Product Description

Introduction

Robot Base Plate CNC Machining is used to manufacture rigid mounting foundations for industrial robots, collaborative robots, robotic cells, automated equipment, and custom motion systems. The base plate establishes a stable reference between the robot and the supporting floor, frame, machine, or automation platform.

Robot base plates often include large flat mounting surfaces, robot bolt patterns, precision dowel holes, locating features, threaded holes, counterbores, cable openings, recessed pockets, and structural mounting interfaces. Small deviations in flatness, hole position, parallelism, or datum location can affect robot installation, alignment, structural stability, and repeatability after assembly or maintenance.

Our CNC machining capabilities include 3-axis and 5-axis milling, drilling, boring, threading, tapping, counterboring, pocket machining, and precision surface finishing. Machining strategies, workholding, datum control, and inspection methods are selected according to base plate size, thickness, mounting pattern, flatness requirements, and installation conditions.

Robot base plates can be machined from aluminum alloys, carbon steel, stainless steel, tool steel, and other engineering materials, with anodizing, black oxide, plating, passivation, painting, powder coating, and other secondary treatments available. Prototype, custom one-off, and low-volume production can be supported according to customer drawings.

Plate size, thickness, robot bolt patterns, dowel holes, threaded holes, counterbores, cable openings, and custom mounting interfaces can be machined according to specific robot and automation layouts.

Material & Surface Customization

Aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, tool steel, and other materials can be selected according to load, stiffness, weight, corrosion resistance, and installation environment.Surface options include anodizing, black oxide, passivation, plating, painting, powder coating, and custom finishes.

Flatness & Position Customization

Mounting surface flatness, bolt-hole position, dowel-hole location, parallelism, perpendicularity, and critical datums can be controlled according to customer drawings for accurate robot positioning and repeatable installation

Precision Manufacturing, Excellent Quality

Large Surface Precision Machining

Precision milling and surface finishing help maintain large, flat mounting areas that provide stable contact between the robot and supporting structure.

Precision Bolt & Dowel Patterns

Robot bolt patterns, locating holes, dowel holes, threaded holes, and counterbores can be machined according to installation drawings to support accurate positioning.

Structural Rigidity & Weight Optimization

Material, thickness, pockets, ribs, and cutouts can be selected according to stiffness, payload, equipment layout, and weight requirements.

Precision Inspection

CMM, surface plates, height gauges, micrometers, and other inspection equipment can verify flatness, hole position, datum relationships, parallelism, and critical mounting dimensions before delivery.

From design review to delivery, we provide dedicated one-on-one follow-up throughout the entire process.

FAQ

Q1: What is a robot base plate? A robot base plate is a structural mounting component used to secure a robot to a floor, machine, frame, pedestal, automation cell, or other supporting structure.

Q2: Why is flatness important for a robot base plate?
A flat mounting surface helps provide stable contact between the robot and supporting structure, reducing installation stress and helping maintain consistent alignment.

Q3:Can custom robot bolt patterns be machined?
Yes. Bolt holes, threaded holes, dowel locations, counterbores, cable openings, and other mounting features can be machined according to customer drawings.

Q4: Can large robot base plates be CNC machined?
Yes, depending on plate dimensions, machine travel, thickness, material, and required tolerances. Large-part machining requirements can be reviewed according to the drawing.

Q5: Can pockets and cable openings be added?
Yes. Weight-reduction pockets, cable passages, recessed areas, slots, and other structural features can be machined according to the robot cell layout.
